About this event
Tom Djll Newly returned from an east coast tour, Djll's well honed edge is now obsidian-sharp and gleaming with a ghostly hue that is only achieved through deep practice. Knapping slabs of sound he then sets them in phrases and etches each using timbres from his bag of synth circuits, trumpet and touch to uncover relia and relics from futures as yet unpassed. Close your eyes to see your possible selves unearthed, scraped and feather dusted, then entreated to self assemble in the anthropoid menagerie of vibration. Tanukispidercat By dissecting sound into pieces and manipulating these fragments in real-time, she sculpts an ever-evolving and fluid soundscape. Layering, laughing wildly, and staggering ever forwards. To discovering the Tanukispidercat in its preferred habitat is to behold a fragmented, unlikely and chimerical animal endemic to San Francisco. With as many fangs as bright yellow eyes, from crouch to pounce, her blizzard of tooth, claw, fluff, synth and sampler come full fury with lethal-swift paddycakes of pure desire. Hat Brackets Well-feared as latenight KALX & KPFA broadcast artist The Genderwave and well-remembered as former member of the Forever Oscillating Gaseous Corpsewater, Ky Nyza's solo sound is yet another world of immeasurable worlds within worlds. Whether you find there a bottomless spring or an infinite pit depends on how deeply you dare to dive. On this night, a saxophone swims through a labyrinth of circuits, caressing universal particles 'til they confess all. What will it tell? How will life go? Only the bravest approach existence with no fixed approach, each step a dance, fully presenting undefended to the curling surge. And only ever together, ubiety, don't sit alone come get some at the Peacock Lounge! Under the Skin Silvia Matheus and Thomas Miley approach improvisation as recognition, acceptance, contradiction, and submission — where sound becomes physical, unpredictable, and immediate reaching across electroacoustics and electronics, noise and ambience, through a blend of analog and digital technologies. For Matheus sound, gesture, texture, and physical theatrical presence are integral while Miley combines audio-reactive computer graphics, interactive installations, and physically modeled microtonal scales as elements of real-time composition.
